StaTwig joins the LACChain Global Alliance to promote a vaccine solution in Latin America and the Caribbean.
StaTwig is a technological company working on a blockchain-based solution for the traceability of the COVID -19 vaccine, that is now joining the LACChain alliance to deploy this solution on the network.
Stemming from the global need to maintain control over the distribution process of vaccines to combat the pandemic by COVID-19, StaTwig has developed a solution that uses blockchain technology, which will be deployed on LACChain networks.
The delivery of vaccines to combat the current pandemic has begun the greatest feat in the supply chain in history, due to the need to rapidly vaccinate 7 billion people worldwide. As per WHO, 1 out of 4 vaccines get spoiled in the supply chain, which must be monitored to maintain its effectiveness in the transfer.
There is a clear need for these supply chains to be transparent for an equitable distribution of the vaccines, in this way the solution proposed by StaTwig provides traceability at unit level, detection of product expiration, chain of custody and cold chain monitoring.
In order to deploy and make this solution available for the countries in Latin America and the Caribbean both entities have formalized their alliance.
The agreements between the two entities include:
- Exchange of relevant and complementary information on blockchain-based services that LACChain and StaTwig are developing and offering.
- Promote the use of the LACChain network and the StaTwig solution for vaccine traceability.
- Development of new materials, tools and concepts such as blockchain infrastructure, digital identity or tokenized fiat money.
