Red Hat announces collaboration with the LACChain Global Alliance
Red Hat, the leading global provider of open-source enterprise software solutions, has joined the “LACChain Global Alliance” to develop the blockchain ecosystem in Latin America and the Caribbean, intending to increase the impact in the region regarding the promotion and adoption of blockchain technology.
Red Hat, the leading global provider of open-source software solutions for enterprises founded in 1993 and with over 100 locations in more than 40 countries, has joined the “LACChain Global Alliance.”
Red Hat provides strengthened solutions that allow companies to easily work across different hybrid cloud platforms and environments, catalyzing open-source innovation and supporting the design of flexible and robust IT infrastructure solutions.
Intending to revolutionize the blockchain ecosystem, Red Hat and LACChain aim to promote the development of blockchain technology using Red Hat OpenShift and the dissemination of LACChain blockchain networks in various cloud marketplaces, making applications more widely available in the region.
LACChain aims to accelerate the enabling and adoption of blockchain technology in the region to promote innovation and reduce inequalities. To achieve this, it focuses on two main lines of action: promoting communities and ecosystems and developing infrastructures that enable the development and use of technology.
By using Red Hat OpenShift, the industry-leading enterprise Kubernetes platform, LACChain can provide enhanced security capabilities in blockchain applications.
Red Hat OpenShift offers developers and IT operators a unified application platform to manage multi-cloud, hybrid cloud, and edge computing deployments, enabling them to innovate quickly.
In response to this announcement, Martha Ardila, Regional Sales Director for Central America and the Caribbean at Red Hat, commented: “Participating in the LACChain Global Alliance reaffirms our commitment to enabling open source ecosystems and communities to deliver impactful solutions and support emerging technologies for organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean. We have already begun conceptual testing in some countries and believe that Red Hat’s experience can help generate greater impact within the region.”
LACChain already has 62 members in the blockchain environment, supporting public-private partnerships and blockchain-based solutions in 17 countries in the region. Currently, there are 51 projects impacting inclusion, with 213 nodes and 120 entities running nodes in a historical record of over 51 million blocks.
